Plea to lower sewer charges

CHENNAI: : The United Forum of Nanganallur Welfare Associations and the Federation of Adambakam Welfare Associations have requested the Government to reduce the monthly maintenance charge for underground sewer lines to Rs.60 a month from the proposed Rs.105.

Their representatives met the Rural Industries Minister and local MLA B. Valarmathi on Monday to express their concern over the issue.

After hearing their views, she arranged for a meeting with Municipal Administration and Water Supply Secretary Sheela Priya and Commissioner of Municipal Administration Ambuj Sharma.
