Slash power tariff: TDP

HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Thursday demanded reduction in power tariff citing improved hydel generation while reminding the Congress of its election promise of rolling it back to 2000 level.

Addressing a press conference, the TDP leaders, S. Chandramohan Reddy and M. Narsimhulu said the Government should not deceive people now that the power generation has improved vastly. They said the previous TDP Government could not reduce the tariff beyond a reasonable level as the State did not get such copious inflows into Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar reservoirs.
