COIMBATORE: Students of management will ask questions on career development and the work environment at a face-to-face meeting with four `inspirational icons' at the PSG College of Technology (PSG Tech), on August 13. `Shaping Young Minds - Managing career expectations' will be an interactive meeting organised by the All India Management Association (AIMA) and the Coimbatore Management Association (CMA). PSG Tech will be the knowledge partner and The Hindu Business Line, the media partner. The president, CMA, P. M. Jagadeesan and the secretary, R. Nandagopal, told presspersons here on Tuesday that the function would feature the industrialist, M. V. Subbiah, politician Sachin Pilot, police officer, Kiran Bedi and heart surgeon, Devi Prasad Shetty. "It will be an inspirational programme initiated by AIMA at Mumbai, which has spread to other metros," Mr. Jagadeesan said. "The four speakers will address the students for half-an-hour and will answer questions for the next 45 minutes. This function is part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of CMA." "We are expecting about 1,500 to 2,000 students from 40 business schools in the region, as well as 200 young managers," said Mr. Nandagopal. "Participants will come from Coimbatore, Trichy, Madurai, Erode and Dindigul." Speakers would highlight events that had influenced the course of their lives, mention the individuals who had inspired them, share their experience of managing crucial moments in their careers and put forth their views about rising to the top. For students of management, the registration fee will be Rs. 300 per participant for students of management, and Rs. 500 each for members of CMA, non-members, faculty and young managers from the corporate sector. It will be cheaper for institutions to opt for group registration at Rs. 5,000 for 25 students.
