Disaster management

Guest lectures, video shows and competitions will be conducted from August 12 to 15 under a `Disaster Management' project being conducted at GKD Matriculation Higher Secondary School. On Independence Day, students of Classes V to XII will organise an exhibition on the steps to be taken to mitigate the effects of natural calamities.

Medical camp

PSG Hospitals will conduct a free consultation camp for urogynaecological problems, from 9 a.m. to noon on August 14 on the hospital premises. The same day, members of the Lions Club of Coimbatore will organise a free ortho medical camp from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lions Community Hall.

Meeting

The All India Management Association, in co-ordination with the Coimbatore Management Association, will organise an interaction meeting on August 12.

Conference on IT tools

Discussions on artificial intelligence, computer communication systems, digital signal processing and cryptography will be the highlights of a conference, `Emerging Intelligent Information Technologies', to be held at the Karpagam College of Engineering on August 12 and 13. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology and Master of Computer Applications is organising it along with the Department of Training and Placement. Infosys Technologies Ltd., Chennai, is the sponsor.
