TUCI State committee

flays bus strike

Kochi: The State Committee of the Trade Union Centre of India (TUCI) has pointed out that the bus strike was being held to deny benefits to bus workers and concession facility to students travelling in buses. T.C. Subramanyan, secretary of the centre, said in a statement that bus owners were going ahead with their strike despite the Government announcement that they would be given time till August 30 to remit vehicle tax without fine. — Staff Reporter

Kochi: Ernakulam Services Society has completed construction of 43 houses at Elankunnapuzha for those who lost shelter in the tsunami attack. The houses have been constructed near the Perumalpady fisheries colony. — Staff Reporter
