Doctorate for Sreedharan

NEW DELHI:
The Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, E. Sreedharan, will be conferred the degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi at its upcoming convocation on Saturday in recognition of his outstanding contributions and achievements in national development.
A DMRC release noted that Mr. Sreedharan is responsible for the construction of the Delhi Metro project that uses some of the most advanced technology in the field of civil, electrical, signalling and telecommunication engineering worldwideThe project involved many challenges such as tunnelling through Chawri Bazar and adoption of automatic operations
