NEW DELHI: The National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) is all set to launch a year-long `National Campaign for a Barrier Free India' to commemorate Independence Day. On the occasion, an `Access-India' logo and a `Blueprint to Create a Barrier-Free India' will be unveiled by Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit. The NCPEDP has also urged Delhiites to make the Capital a model city in terms of accessibility. The mega campaign will be scaled at the national level through the National Disability Network covering all States and Union Territories and will focus on creating awareness and changes at the policy level by getting disability addressed in the Master Plan, Urban Renewal Plans and transport policy. Efforts will also be made to target disability access issues included in the Union Budget and the Railway Budget.
