THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Government has sanctioned unaided Plus Two courses in 42 schools in the State and additional batches in 19 unaided higher secondary schools. Sanction has been given for two science batches and one batch each for humanities and commerce in these schools. A maximum of 50 students can be admitted in each batch. In each school, 40 per cent of the seats will be for the merit quota and an equal number for the management quota. Twelve per cent of the seats would be for SC students and eight per cent for ST students. The monthly tuition fee would be Rs.500 and other fee would come to Rs.1,000 a year. The returnable caution deposit would be Rs.1,000. No additional fee should be charged by the schools though they have the option to charge less, a press note issued here said..
