HYDERABAD: Celebrating the spirit of Hyderabad in true gourmet style. That's what this eating contest aims at. And it is hanging two birds to be bumped off with a single shot - eat Hyderabadi biryani to your heart... err stomach's content and walk off with a prize. And oh, more biryani to gorge on at home. Pride of Hyderabad, a Hyderabadi cuisine specialty restaurant on Chapel Road in Nampally is the chef of this unique recipe of a contest, inviting all Hyderabadis to stretch the frontiers of their tummies and win a prize for eating the city's most popular meal. Titled `The Hyderabadi Biryani Eating Contest', this event scheduled for August 20 is open to people of all ages, genders and from all walks of life. The mouth-watering entry is free for the contest to be held at the Pride of Hyderabad restaurant at Hotel Anmol International on Chapel Road. Those interested to test their gastronomic limits can walk into any of the two Pride of Hyderabad restaurants, either at Hotel Anmol International, Nampally or at Hotel Anmol Continental opposite the Secretariat. An entry form will be handed out, on which the contestant has to write 25 words on `I like Hyderabadi biryani because... " The last date for entries is 5 p.m. on August 17.
