CBI seeks police custody for Ahok Jain

HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) here on Tuesday moved a city court seeking custody of Ashok Jain, an accused in the Volkswagen scam who was arrested last week.

The petition, filed by Superintendent of Police, CBI, in the XIV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court, said Jain had played an important role in the payment of Rs. 11.67 crores by the Government to Vashistha Wahan, special purpose vehicle of the Volkswagen.

The CBI said searches in the country had unearthed material indicating that Jain was a beneficiary.

He was also in the know of details pertaining to bank accounts and whereabouts of the other accused.
