P.B. Srinivas bags `Vidwath Siromani'

Kalapeetam's efforts to promote art lauded

CHENNAI:
Playback singer P.B. Srinivas was honoured with the `Vidwath Siromani' award by S.D. Reddy Kalapeetam on Tuesday.
Mr. Srinivas was honoured with a citation. C.M.K. Reddy, chairman of the All India Telugu Federation, described Mr. Srinivas as a "renowned singer" and commended the Kalapeetam's efforts to promote Telugu art and culture.
P. Subba Reddy, lawyer, recalled his acquaintance with Mr. Srinivas. Earlier, he released `Suvarna Veena', a book by S. Dasaradha Rama Reddy after whom the Kalapeetam has been was named.
