He said that informal ways of teaching theatre to children will pressure the State Government to introduce theatre in the school curriculum. Dr. Patil said that there will be a delay if the theatre repertory waits for the Government to take an initiative in this regard. He said that committees will be set up and reports sought before the Government takes up a project. Efforts must be made to device means to introduce theatre education to children, he added. He also said that Rangayana and the Kannada Sahitya Parishat should emerge as instruments for creating infrastructure for imparting skills. On the plans of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat to improve children's literature, Dr. Patil said the parishat will be organising a workshop on children's literature to train people to write for children.
