This Day That Age
The Chinese Premier, Mr. Chou En-lai, has said that China hoped for "some results" from the Sino-American ambassadorial talks now being held in Geneva and was exerting her efforts in that direction. Replying to questions put to him by Japanese journalists now visiting Peking, he said China believed that if both sides were motivated by a spirit of conciliation and each made appropriate efforts in a reciprocal spirit the Sino-American talks would "contribute to the improvement of relations between the two countries and a further easing of Far Eastern and world tension." Mr. Chou repeated his proposal for an Asian Collective Security Pact, including the US.
