An affront

The latest fatwa by the Darul Uloom of Deoband against Muslim women is nothing short of an affront to the Constitution. How can any organisation issue an edict that preaches discrimination on the basis of sex? Can the Government be a mute spectator?

B.L. Shishoo,
Jaipur

* * *

Swetha R. Deepak,
Chennai
