Rupee loses further ground
MUMBAI:
The rupee on Thursday lost further ground against the U.S. currency due to sustained dollar demand from corporates and importers on the back of a resurgent dollar overseas even as a fresh slide in global oil prices boosted market sentiment.
The rupee ended at 43.5650/5750 a dollar, another three paise decline from Wednesday's finish of 43.5400/5450 after a weak opening slot of 43.5450/5550. The rupee fell by 1-1/2 paise yesterday. PTI
