Sonia to distribute tricycles

NEW DELHI: Congress president Sonia Gandhi will distribute 100 tricycles to differently-abled persons at her 10 Janpath residence here this coming Saturday to mark the 61st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ram Babu Sharma said on Thursday that the DPCC, which would be donating these tricycles, had planned to commemorate Rajiv Gandhi's birthday in a constructive and meaningful manner to providing succour to the poor.

Awareness about sanitation

NEW DELHI: As part of "Sulabh Wash Campaign", a function was organised in the Capital on Wednesday to create awareness about sanitation and hygiene among students, teachers and community members.

Organised jointly by the Sulabh School Sanitation Club and WSSCC, Geneva, the function saw participation of students from Vandana International School, Kamal Model School, St. Mary's School, Nav Gyan Deep School, Shiv Vani School, St. Gregorious School, Bal Bharti School and Sulabh Public School.

Consumer exposition

NEW DELHI: Major Indian and global brands will showcase and launch their products at a three-day consumer exposition, "Brand Durbar", that begins in the Capital this coming Saturday. The exhibition is being organised by AMGF Intercorp Limited.

Sanskrit Day

NEW DELHI: Bal Bhavan Public School, Mayur Vihar Phase-II, celebrated Sanskrit Day at its school premises over the weekend. The school Principal, B.B.Gupta, addressed the students in Sanskrit and emphasised the fact that the language was closely intertwined with India's cultural heritage. Through the great Vedas and Upanishads, Sanskrit has always guided the people of India on to the righteous path, he added.
