Beautified Kottakkunnu to open on Saturday

MALAPPURAM: The tourism map of Malappuram will add a star to it when Tourism Minister K.C. Venugopal inaugurates the first phase of Kottakkunnu development on Saturday afternoon.

Kottakkunnu, the table-top scenic location of Malappuram town with immense historical importance, is being given final touches as part of the project.

New life

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, District Collector M. Shivasankar said that the development project would bring a new life to Kottakkunnu. Already a sum of Rs. 2 crore had been spent in various phases for the project.

The inaugural will take place at the Arangu Open Air Theatre constructed as part of the development project.

Minister for Works M. K. Muneer, Minister for Culture A.P. Anil Kumar, T.K. Hamza and Abdussamad Samadani, MPs, will take part.

Eco-tourism project

On the same day, the Tourism Minister will inaugurate the work of an eco-tourism project and a tourist complex at Nilambur.

Minister for Power Aryadan Mohammed will preside over the function. P.V. Abdul Wahab, MP, will take part.
