CPI leader passes away

HYDERABAD:
Senior CPI leader and State representative of the party's weekly, New Age, L. Venkata Rao (55), died due to a cardiac arrest late on Wednesday night. He is survived by wife, son and a daughter.
A post-graduate in social work from Andhra University, Rao joined the party in 1976. He worked as a reporter of New Age in New Delhi for more than 15 years before returning to the State from where he continued his work.
The State council of the CPI mourned the death of Rao and conveyed its sympathies to the bereaved family. The CPI-affiliated Andhra Pradesh Mahila Samakhya and the Praja Natya Mandali also condoled his death.
