NEW DELHI: Three persons allegedly involved in several cases of burglary and theft have been arrested by the Special Staff of the South-West Delhi police. The police claim to have recovered stolen articles worth over Rs. 2 lakhs from the accused. Sub-Inspector Raj Kumar of the Special Staff received a tip-off that one of the suspects would come near the Chandrika Banquet Hall in Dabri on Wednesday. The police laid a trap and around 7 p.m., when the suspect and his two associates appeared on the scene, the team asked them to surrender. One of them, later identified as Arif, opened fire at the police team. However, the police managed to overpower him and his two associates, Mohammad Rizwan and Yashin Ali. Two knives were recovered from them. At their instance, the police recovered gold and silver jewellery, television sets, watches, electrical appliances, electronic gadgets and 2.5 quintals of electric wire.
