Fervour marks `Srinivasa kalyanam'

Thousands of couples participate in the celestial wedlock

KADAPA: Raghava Annamacharya, the 12th descendent of the saint-lyricist, Tallapaka Annamacharya, and priests performed the Sri Padmavathi Srinivasa Kalyana Rakshadharana Mahotsavam at the TTD kalyana mandapam here on Friday.

Thousands of couples participated in the celestial wedlock on the auspicious occasion of Sravana Pournami and Sravana `nakshatram' falling on a Friday after a gap of 60 years, with religious fervour. They also donned `raksha kankanams' supplied by the TTD.
