CENTAC would fill fifty seats each in two medical colleges through supplementary counselling

PONDICHERRY: The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) constituted by the Pondicherry Administration for admission of students to various professional courses has announced its "schedule of supplementary counselling" to fill vacancies in the various B.Tech , Biology based and LL.B.courses in professional colleges in the Union Territory during the current academic year.

A release from the Convenor of the CENTAC said here on Saturday that the supplementary counselling would be held for these courses from August 22,to 24.

The release said that the CENTAC would also fill through the forthcoming supplementary counselling fifty seats each in the Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Medical Research Institute, under the management quotas as per the order of the Supreme Court.

These two medical colleges are privately managed self- financing institutions.

The counselling also aims at filling the 13 vacant seats (all under government quota) in the MBBS course in these two private medical colleges, the release said.

The release said that all candidates who had applied for admission to CENTAC for the academic year (2005-2006) and who have been given a rank in the merit list published by the Committee earlier, and also candidates who have cleared plus two in the supplementary examination are eligible for the forthcoming counselling.

Individual counselling call letters would not be sent to the candidates.
