KOCHI: The Rajiv Gandhi Akshaya Energy Day was observed in the district on Saturday with various programmes, including competitions for students, a mass run, public meeting and a lecture by scientist R.V.G. Menon. The programmes were organised by the District Advisory Committee on Non-Conventional Energy and Agency for Non-Conventional Energy and Rural Technology (ANERT). Inaugurating a public meeting, Mayor C.M. Dinesh Mani said seeking alternative sources of energy was highly important in the present context of depleting energy resources
