Crime Watch

Body found

The body of an unidentified woman aged around 23 years was found in an open area at Guttala Begumpet, Madhapur on Saturday. Police said the woman was strangulated to death and did not rule out rape and murder.

Theft alleged

An IAS officer, V. Srinivasachary, on Friday lodged a complaint with the Sanjeevareddy Nagar police alleging that his maid servant Laxmi committed theft of Rs. 50,000 from his housein SR Nagar.

One killed in road accident

An auto-rickshaw driver, Mohd. Mahboob (20) of New Hafizpet died after he lost control of his vehicle and rammed into a seven-seater autorickshaw at Shaikpet on Friday. It is learnt that the seven-seater auto driver applied sudden brakes, leading to the accident.

Man electrocuted

A contract labourer, Uppalaiah (50) died and six others suffered injuries due to electric shock while trying to erect an electric pole at MG Nagar under the Humayun Nagar police limits on Saturday.The police are verifying as to why the power supply was not shut down.
