Disconnection drive

BESCOM has informed that there will be a mass disconnection drive from August 23 in some areas and asked power consumers to clear their dues immediately. The areas identified for the disconnection drive are Doddigunta, PSK Naidu Slum, Sundarmurthy Road, MM Road, Mosque Road, Coles Road, Moore Road, Wheeler Road, Kadiprappa Road, Cox Town and Veeranna Garden.

Interaction

Bangalore Mass Rapid Transit Ltd. (BMRTL) has organised an interaction with the residents of Indiranagar, CMH Road Shops and Establishments Association and other groups with business interests at CMH Road and Indiranagar 100 ft road.

The interaction will be at 11 a.m. on August 22 at Indiranagar Club. BMRTL will present all details about the metro rail project.

Book exhibition

Christ College, Department of Media Studies, is organising its annual book exhibition, `Bookmark,' from August 24 to 26 in the college quadrangle.

Books from all major publishers will be displayed with discounts.

Training

Small Industries Service Institute, Rajajinagar Industrial Estate, will conduct a six-month machinist training course in September.

Financial aid

The Karnataka Government has announced a new scheme of financial assistance for women, Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs and artisans to participate in various trade exhibitions held in the State and outside.

They will be paid cost of stall rentals, travelling expenses and for their stay.
