Around 10,000 CDs are on display at the exhibition, which will be on till August 29

MADURAI: Want to buy stories of Birbal, Mullah and Tenali Rama, Panchathantra, etc., with all their moral themes in hi-tech forms or want to teach your kids rhymes with animation series, or learn a foreign or an Indian language on your own or own a series of racing games or know why do Indians cremate the dead and why are cows worshipped in India.

Then visit the exhibition on computer CDs and educational VCDs at Lakshmi Arasu Kalayana Manadapam. The Dove Multimedia Pvt. Ltd has exhibited around 10,000 CDs, which will be a real test to your choosing ability.

Magic until we understand it and thereafter Mathematics says the `Vedic mathematics' series, which will improve your `problem-solving' skills with easy and quick solving tips based on ancient tradition principles. The mathematics software will also make learning multiplication tables joyful while the atlas will take the buyers on a virtual tour of the country detailing the landscapes and the people.

The English tutor CDs will provide a real audio-visual treat whereas the educational CDs caters to the educational needs of students from pre-school level to Plus-two level. CDs on nursery rhymes, stories of great Indian epics etc are also on display.

There are 50 varieties of CDs based on Discovery channel programmes covering each and every minute details on every topics such as fish, forensics, earth, nuclear energy, insects, solar system etc.

CDs on foreign language tutor series will help one to learn French, German, Spanish, Japanese etc while the dictionary CDs such as Oxford talking will each word accompanied by a visual and audio into it. The highlight of the expo is the compilation of 32 volumes of `Encyclopaedia Britannica', worth above Rs.20,000, converted into six CDs priced at Rs. 2,000. There are CDs on music, airport maintenance, management series concentrating on time management, team building, decision making and on personality and skill development are displayed.

In the study materials section --- students can choose materials for various common entrance tests, including IIT-JEE, CAT, Combined Defence Service, Civil Services etc, besides GMAT and TOEFL.

The software tutor section will cover the basic, MS Java, photoshop, DTP, etc while the horoscope CD is given in seven Indian languages with match-making details. The publishing section will give pre-made designs for letterhead, visiting cards, and high- resolution photos for design studios. Health related areas like diet, diabetic, losing weight, heritage collections of Mahabalipuram, Vijaynagar are also on display. For music lovers CDs on learning guitar, piano etc and for adventure freaks there are CDs of simulation, role-playing games, racing to strategy games including Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Spider man etc are on display. The others topics on display are: fashion designing, muhurtham explorer, world map, tourist-places in India, Indian culture and tradition, human anatomy, home designing, vastu etc. The expo offers 10 to 50 percent discount and special discount for bulk purchases.

The inaugural session of the expo was held on Saturday and three new CDs of Pebbles were released by M. Anto Peter, computer book writer.

The expo will go on till August 29.
