Isolated rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Karnataka, at many places over Telangana and north interior Karnataka and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, south interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Kerala.

Sulya (Dakshina Kannada dt.) recorded heavy rainfall of 8 centimeters.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimeters are: Puttur (Dakshina Kannada dt.) 6, Nagar Kurnool (Mahabubnagar dt.) 5, Koppal and Jurla Project (Mahabubnagar dt.) 4 each, Subramanya (Dakshina Kannada dt.), Karkala (Udupi dt.), Shirali, Hessaraghatta (Bangalore Urban dt.) and Pargi (Rengareddy dt.) 3 each, Mani, Dharmasthala and Belthangadi (all Dakshina Kannada dt.), Kakinada and Kavali 2 each and Virdhunagar, Madurai, Karwar, Honavar, Mangalore Airport, Mangalore, Panambur, Madikeri, Udupi, Belgaum, Virajpet (Kodagu dt.), Hyderabad Airport and Vikarabad (Rengareddy dt.) 1 each.

FORECAST (valid until Wednesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over coastal Karnataka and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and interior Karnataka.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Rayalaseema, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
