Mittal Steel's mining deal with Liberia

ROTTERDAM: Mittal Steel, the world's largest steel maker, on Monday said it had signed a major mining development agreement with the Government of Liberia. The agreement, which requires ratification by the Liberian senate, will give Mittal access to about one billion tonnes of rich iron ores reserves in western Liberia for an investment of about $900 million.
