Rupee declines

MUMBAI: Breaching the crucial 43.60-dollar level, the rupee tumbled to an over one and half month closing low of 43.62/63 a dollar on Monday, pulled down by hectic demand on the back of a strong dollar overseas and flaring crude oil prices.

In slightly nervous trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee declined by four paise from the last Friday's closing of 43.58/59 following a steady opening of 43.58/59 a dollar. — PTI
