HYDERABAD: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of employees, teachers and workers has rejected the offer of the Andhra Pradesh Government to give a fitment of 12.5 per cent in pay scales to the staff, and resolved to go ahead with the strike from the midnight of September 5. The Secretariat of JAC, which met here on Monday to consider the Government offer as articulated by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy demanded 20 per cent fitment formula which would be conveyed to Dr. Reddy at their talks on Wednesday. The meeting was unanimous in its decision, the JAC chairman, B.V. Subba Rao, told reporters later. The meeting chalked out a schedule of the leaders to tour districts to prepare the staff for the strike. They would tour different parts of the State in three batches from August 27 to September 3.
