Woman abducted, gang-raped

Victim rescued from Jind in Haryana, four accused arrested


  • The main accused was the victim's employer, Rohit
  • She was given cold drinks laced with sedatives
  • When she lost consciousness she was taken to a house in Jind and assaulted
  • The accused include Rohit's father and brother-in-law

    NEW DELHI: An 18-year-old woman was allegedly abducted by her employer from Geeta Colony in East Delhi on August 12 and criminally assaulted by him, his father and brother-in-law at Jind in Haryana for about a week. Four persons have been arrested in this connection.

    It is learnt that on August 12, the father of the victim lodged a complaint with the East Delhi police alleging that she had been abducted. The victim worked in a placement agency owned by one Rohit. The police went to his office to question him, but he was missing from there. Suspecting his involvement, the police mounted raids at his suspected hideouts and learnt that he gone to Jind in Haryana.

    Subsequently, a police team raided his Jind hideout and rescued the victim from there. She alleged that on August 12, Rohit called her to a place where he asked her to sit in his car and offered her cold drinks. She fell unconscious soon after consuming the cold drinks. When she woke up, she found herself in a house at Jind where Rohit, his father, Mange Ram, and brother-in-law, Rajender, allegedly criminally assaulted her.

    She was kept in confinement and criminally assaulted by the accused for about a week. The victim alleged that all this while, Rohit's sister, Sheila, took care of her.

    Acting on her statement, the police arrested the four accused and brought them to the Capital. Further probe into the matter is on.
