Bombay city and suburbs experienced heavy rain during the past 12 hours. All low-lying areas in the city have been flooded, bringing vehicular traffic to a standstill. The incoming planes of the Indian Airlines Corporation from Delhi, Hyderabad and Calcutta were diverted to Poona due to poor visibility and bad weather.
