NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday launched two new value added schemes for North Delhi Power Limited (NDPL) consumers and also inaugurated a new 66kv grid station at Bawana in North-West Delhi. The two new schemes have been christened as "Gift Electricity" and "Privilege Consumer'' initiatives and are described as a bonanza for honest consumers and those who pay their bills on time. Giving information about the schemes, NDPL CEO Anil Sardana said the "Gift Electricity'' scheme would be launched in October. "It is a novel concept wherein even electricity could now be gifted by way of attractive gift coupons to those living in areas where NDPL distributes electricity. These gift coupons will be made available at all the 21 NDPL cash collection centres and important merchandise stores in markets. On the sale of every 2,000 gift coupons there will be lucky draws and other attractive schemes for the buyers." Referring to the other scheme, Mr. Sardana said the "Privilege Consumer'' concept would be a bonanza for consumers who have been paying their electricity bills regularly and on time. Such consumers will be rewarded with exciting offers in the form of discount offers from reputed brands and outlets.
Reaching out to consumers
Mr. Sardana said this was another major initiative by NDPL to take the services offered to the consumers to another level. He said the company had always laid emphasis on reaching out to the consumers and that is one of the main reasons that the satisfaction levels were very high as compared to other areas. The NDPL CEO said the company had been successful in bringing down the incidence of theft and urged the consumers to help the organisation to book the dishonest people so that the honest get more benefits in future.
Efforts lauded
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Dikshit applauded the performance of the company during the last three years in Delhi and said it had taken a number of initiatives for the benefit of the consumers. Ms. Dikshit expressed satisfaction with the working of the private discoms and lauded the consumer-friendly approach adopted by it. She recalled that within just one year, commercial data of 100 per cent consumers living in the NDPL area had been uploaded on the company's website and expressed hope that such initiatives would go a long way in ensuring consumer satisfaction. It was announced that coupons for "Gift Electricity" scheme would be available for amounts ranging from Rs. 500 to Rs. 4000. Under the "Privilege Consumer" scheme, the company is offering its consumers attractive discounts and special offers from reputed companies like Tata Teleservices, Westside, Voltas, McDonalds, Domino's, Berco's and other reputed brands as a reward for paying their bills regularly and on time. The occasion also marked the launch of NDPL's state-of-the-art grid station at Bawana that will play an important role in ensuring reliable power supply to the Industrial units of the Bawana Industrial Area. The Grid has an installed capacity of 40 MVA (2X20 MVA) with two incoming supplies of 66kV and 11 outgoing supplies of 11 kV feeders to NDPL Network. The state-of-the-art NDPL Bawana 6 Grid will be remote-controlled in the near future and shall be operated through radio frequency from NDPL's Power System Control Centre.
