Kerala Police have come up with a proposal to provide mobile phones to all officers above the rank of Sub-Inspectors to enable the citizens to contact them directly. Under the scheme `Kerala Police 24 X 7,' all 423 Sub-Inspectors and 188 Circle Inspectors attached to the local police, 49 officers of the Sub-Division and 17 Deputy Superintendents of Police attached to the Special Branch will be provided mobile phones. This will enable the citizens to contact the officers directly 24 hours and seven days (24 X 7) a week, says Director General of Police Raman Srivastava.
