KRISHNAGIRI: A sum of Rs. 1.85 crores has been allotted through the Tamil Nadu Adi-dravidar Housing Development Corporation (TAHDCO) for the economic uplift of Adi-dravidars and Scheduled Tribes in the current year said the District Collector, Mangat Ram Sharma, here on Wednesday. Out of it Rs. 77 lakhs has been allotted under the land purchase scheme for 180 persons, Rs. 55 lakhs as revolving fund and economic assistance to 125 Self-help groups benefiting 2,430 members.
Self-employment scheme
In addition an estimate of Rs. 18 lakhs has been sanctioned under individual loans, Rs. 10 lakhs under the Self-employment and training scheme benefiting 120 persons, Rs. 7 lakhs under the Collector's discretionary fund and Rs. 18 lakhs under the Self-employment scheme benefiting 72 persons. In 2004-05, Rs. 15.14 lakhs was allotted as subsidy through TAHDCO under the land purchase scheme, Rs. 13.57 lakhs as economic assistance and revolving fund for 81 SHGs, Rs. 13.57 lakhs for individual loans, Rs. 4.26 lakhs for Self-employment and training scheme and Rs. 3.38 lakhs under the Collector's discretionary fund.
