BANGALORE: A labourer was killed when he fell from the first floor of an apartment under construction in Fraser Town police station limits on Tuesday. The police said that around 4.30 p.m. three bar-benders were working in the first floor of the building on Ashoka Road. One of them, John (67) of Lingarajapuram, lost balance and fell. John was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead, the police said. The Fraser Town police have registered a case.
TERI office burgled
Thieves broke into the office of Tata Energy Research Institute (TERI) in Indiranagar police station limits on Tuesday night and made away with five computers, two monitors and three printers. The police said the thieves entered the office in 2nd Stage, Domlur, by smashing the glass panes of a window that did not have grills. On a complaint by an official of the institute, Sunil Rao, the Indiranagar police have registered a case.
House burgled
Thieves broke into a house in Subramanyapura police station limits and took away gold and silver ornaments estimated at Rs. 75,000. The police said the burglary took place at the house of T.S. Jagannath Reddy, a private company employee, in Aishwarya Layout in Kuvempunagar. Reddy, who had gone to Chitradurga on Saturday, returned on Tuesday night and found that his house was burgled. The thieves had entered the house by breaking the main door, the police said.
Man ends life
Imran (30) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in Subedarpalya in Yeshwanthapur police station limits on Tuesday night. The police said Imran, who was working as a welder, was jobless.
