This Day That Age
A spokesman of the Pakistan Foreign Office said in Karachi on August 24 that his Government had not received any note from India drawing his country's attention to her obligations under the Bandung Anti-Colonial Convention not to extend aid or assistance to the Portuguese regime in Goa. He said, "It has not yet reached us. Maybe it is on the way." Goa has established new trade links with Pakistan and Ceylon, two other members of the Bandung Conference. Though the trade relations would not benefit any of the countries, it is felt that such assistance would enable the Portuguese in sustaining their colonial rule. With the severance of all diplomatic relations with India, the Portuguese are seeking trade and shipping facilities from Pakistan and Ceylon.
