Plea to postpone poll

CHENNAI: The Ex-servicemen Settlers Association at Campbell Bay on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands has called for postponement of local bodies elections in the Great Nicobar.

In a statement, it said that after the January 26 tsunami most of the voters left the Great Nicobar for either the mainland or Port Blair. Holding of elections under these circumstances was a waste of money.
