Rupee stages modest recovery

MUMBAI: The rupee on Thursday staged a modest relief-rally on fresh exporter dollar sales amid renewed global dollar weakness even as the outlook for the currency remained uncertain due to flaring global oil prices at record peaks and a slowdown in foreign institutional investment inflows.

In volatile two-way trading the rupee ended at 43.71/72 a dollar, a modest three paise recovery from Wednesday's 12 week closing low of 43.7400/7450. — PTI
