Rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at many places over coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala. Isolated rainfall occurred Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep.

Keeranur (Pudukottai dt.) and Tirupattur recorded heavy rainfall of 7 Centimeters each.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in Centimeters are:

Vanur (Cuddalore dt.) 6, Cuddalore 5, Gingee and Tindivanam (both Villupuram dt.), Vandavasi (Tiruvannamalai dt.), Palani (Dindugal dt.), Quilandy (Kozhikode dt.) and Chalakudy (Thrissur dt.) 3 each, Polur (Tiruvannamalai dt.), Vellore, Wallajapet (Vellore dt.), Mandya and Santhebennur (Davangere dt.) 2 each and Tirukoilur and Ulundurpet (both Villupuram dt.), Valparai, Kundha Bridge (Nilgiris dt.), Karur, Perambalur, Manaparai (Tiruchirapalli dt.), Manaparai (Tiruchirapalli dt.), Karaikudi (Sivagangai dt.), Karkala, Kollur and Kundapura (all Udupi dt.), Udupi, Karwar, Ankola (Uttara Kannada dt.), Madikeri, Hoerumbavur (Ernakulam dt.) and Cherthala (Alapuzha dt.) 1 each.

FORECAST (valid until Saturday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh, south interior Karnataka and Kerala. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over north interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No large change.
