Lok Ayukta directive to Government

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Lok Ayukta has directed the District Collector, Kollam, and the Chief Secretary, to file a detailed statement before September 9 showing the actual amount collected from the public towards tsunami relief from December 25; the amount spent on compensating the victims; and the amount spent on building bunds and sea walls immediately after the tragedy.

The order was issued by a Division Bench comprising Lok Ayukta K. Sreedharan, and Upa Lok Ayukta N. Krishnan Nair on Thursdayin connection with a case relating to complaint filed by P.K. Raju, CPI youth front district office-bearer, here.
