KOLLAM: State Government employees and teachers will hold demonstrations across the district under the aegis of the Action Council of State Employees and Teachers on August 30 demanding one-month salary as bonus. The demonstration is part of a State-wide exercise by the Action Council. In a statement here on Thursday, Basil Joseph, district unit convener of the Action Council, said demonstrations would be held in front of the District Collectorate, taluk offices at Kottarakara and Karunagapally, at Sasthamcotta Junction and KSRTC Junction in Punalur. He said last year only less than 10 per cent of the employees had been given bonus. Three instalments of DA were pending and wage revision was being indefinitely delayed, he said.
