Speedmath programme for CAT aspirants

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: "What is the difference between those who crack the CAT, and those who do not?" Is it hours of dedicated preparation? Is it luck? Genes? Is it just fate? None, CAT is just a `mental game'.

The tougher you are, the better your chances of coming out a winner. It is more about your frame of mind, your ability to take quick, correct decisions. With every candidate being severely trained for months and even years to face the MBA entrance test, there is a ceaseless hunt for a winning edge, any trick that would save computation time. It is this need which has resurrected interest in speed Mathematics that can save a crucial 10-15 minutes in the CAT. The Vedic system, Trachtenberg's methods and Bill Handley system of Math, form the basis of the Speedmath programme offered by Scholars League - a venture that trains students for CAT. A release from the company says Speedmath "has a coherence and a beauty that make it very attractive and some of the methods are truly amazing in their efficiency and simplicity."

Speedmath techniques can be used in solving problems in Q and A, help a student to eliminate wrong answers quickly using mental calculation, and making approximations in data interpretation, besides in avoiding negative marks.

This programme offered for Cat 2005/06 aspirants from August 29 at the Scholars League centres in Chennai. It is also conducted in city colleges. Call 30931686/9380574898 for more details.
