CHENNAI: Indian fashion industry has achieved global prominence, with Hemant Trivedi, Ritu Beri, Manish Malhotra or Rohit Bal surprising audiences around the world. No wonder, garment design as a career choice is inviting thousands of young fashion aspirants. CADD Centre, a provider of CAD (Computer Aided Design) training, has launched a stand-alone course in garment design to cater to the growing need for well-trained design professionals. "Reach CAD", a specialised Garment CAD application, was developed to suit Indian conditions. The first batch of the 80-hour long diploma course with 50 seats starts on September 5. Interested individuals can visit the CADD centre for a free knowledge enrichment programme on Garment CAD. This 4-hour-long programme will help the students understand the technology and its advantages. Candidates interested in the free four hours training should call in advance due to limited seats. Computer-aided technologies that the CADD centre teaches will help the industry to keep the production schedules intact and meet the deadlines. The centre can also help in the same way to the garment industry to scale up their productivity, reduce wastage, eliminate time over-run and cost over-run etc. The course fee is Rs. 14,900.
