Power cut

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended in T. Nagar, Ayapakkam, Mannady, Flower Bazar, Villivakkam, Porur, Gopalapuram, Sembium, Tollgate, Korattur, Arumbakkam, Sowcarpet, Esplanade, Kondithope, Pudupet, Muthialpet and Purasawakam between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on August 27.

Governor's gesture

The managing trustee of SOS Children's Villages of India, Uma Narayanan, called on Governor Surjit Singh Barnala on August 25 with a group of children. The Governor presented a cheque of Rs. 10,000 to the SOS Children's Village.

International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) will celebrate Vyasa Puja/the birth of the founder Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada at the Nathella Sulochanamma Kalyana Mandapam on August 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The programme includes telecast of the serial on the founder's life called `Abhay Charan,' discussions on his life and activities, abhishekam to the idol and pushpanjali, temple president Sumithra Krishna Das, said.

Property show

The LIC Housing Finance, Velachery, is holding a 3-day property show at K.K. Mahal, Medavakkam Main Road, Madipakkam from Friday afternoon.

The show, which will feature 12 builders having projects in the southern suburbs, will be open in the weekend (10 a.m - 8 p.m).
