Bail for Varavara Rao

HYDERABAD: The former CPI (Maoist) emissaries, Varavara Rao and G. Kalyan Rao, have been granted bail in the cases booked against them following the imposition of ban on the Revolutionary Writers Association (RWA) but both continue to be lodged in jail in connection with another case.

While Mr. Kalyan Rao was granted bail on Wednesday, Mr. Varavara Rao got it on Thursday in the court of the Eighth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Jagadish Chander Rao. They will be lodged till September 5 at the Chanchalguda jail here in connection with a case of assault on a police constable at Madigubba in Anantapur last year.
