Interest waiver on property tax arrears extended

HYDERABAD:
The Municipal Administration Department has extended the waiver of interest on arrears of property tax and interest on dues for the year 2004-05 in municipalities and municipal corporations up to September 30.
The waiver is subject to condition that the taxpayers pay the total arrears and current year's property tax in one lump sum or instalments before September 30.
The Government had earlier decided to extend the scheme up to March 31 this year. But, following representations made by people, the time limit was extended, the department said in its orders issued on Thursday.
