Bank's gesture to senior citizens

Allahabad Bank has announced one per cent more interest on domestic term deposits over and above the card rates for senior citizens. According to a communication from the bank's city branch, this is in addition to the upward revision of 50-100 basis points in interest rates, effective Wednesday.

EPDCL introduces IVRS

The Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (EPDCL) has introduced an interactive voice response system (IVRS), 1912, at its Electricity Call Centre recently. Subscribers of BSNL, Tata Indicom and Hutch may dial for information and enquiries and also to lodge fuse-off and other supply-related complaints and billing dates. Calls can be made from mobile, landline and wireless phones. Tata Indicom landline and wireless and mobile users have to dial 1912 and BSNL and Hutch users have to ring up 08911912.

Meeting put off

The District Development Board meeting scheduled for Saturday has been put off to September 4 owing to unavoidable reasons, according to the District Collector Praveen Prakash. The meeting will be held at the Zilla Parishad Meeting Hall.
