KSU (Indira) dissolved

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Students Union (Indira), the student wing of the National Congress (I), has been dissolved, according to its State president A.R.Nishad. Subsequently, the State camp scheduled to be held at Adoor of Pathanamthitta district on August 27 and 28 has been cancelled, he said in a press release issued here on Thursday. Accusing the NC (I) of being a pocket organisation meant to protect the interests of its president, K.Muralidharan, the student leader said it had no policies or programmes. - Staff Reporter

Veterinary university

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There was a proposal to set up a veterinary university in the State, according to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. Inaugurating the valedictory function held here on Thursday in connection with the national seminar on `Animal disease control strategies,' he said that the Government has been according top priority to the agriculture sector. - Staff Reporter

Protest by NGO Centre

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala NGO Centre has protested against the Government not conceding to the demand of all service organisations for bonus equivalent to one month's salary. Not even five per cent of the total employees of the Government would be eligible to receive bonus, C.P.John, State president of the NGO Centre, said. - Staff Reporter

Employees' Union protest

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Government Employees' Union has termed as `highly disappointing,' the decision of the Government not to bring about any change in the norms for payment of bonus. Sooranadu Chandrasekharan, State general secretary of the Union, has appealed to Government employees to rise in protest against the decision. - Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Bhavishyanidhi Shikayat Nivaram Manch of the Employees' Provident Fund organisation will be held at the Provident Fund office, Pattom, here at 11 a.m. on September 12.
