Opium seized, two from Rajasthan arrested

BANGALORE:
The Chickpet police arrested two persons from Rajasthan and seized from them 1 kg of opium worth Rs. 5 lakhs.
The names of the arrested were given as Shyamlal Devasi, 28, of Jodhpur district and Nemaram, 23, of Pali district. The police said the two had smuggled the opium from Rajasthan and were selling it here.
The police said they are verifying the antecedents of the arrested and their links with the narcotics trade. This is the second incident in recent months where narcotics have been seized from Rajasthanis.
