JAIPUR: A coal-based thermal power station with a capacity of 500 MW is to be set up in Baran district's Chhabra tehsil in Rajasthan. The State Government has given clearance to the Rajasthan State Vidyut Utpadan Nigam to set up two units of 250 MW each at Motipura village on the banks of the Parvati river. RSVUN Chairman N.S. Choudhary on Friday said both the units of the plant would start production by December 2008 at the rate of Rs. 2.14 per unit. Once NEERI completed its work, clearance from the Centre would be sought.
